Hanyu Ichiro’s Malt Card Series “3 of Diamonds” is a true icon of Japanese whisky collecting – one of the legendary playing-card bottlings released under Venture Whisky’s Ichiro’s Malt brand. Introduced in 2005 and released through 2014, the Card Series set out to create a whisky for every card in a full deck (plus two Jokers). The earliest 2005 and 2006 releases repeat the same face cards, meaning the full series totals 58 bottles, and individual cards like this “3 of Diamonds” have become globally chased, investment-grade collectibles.

This particular bottling was distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2007, drawn from cask #9417. It’s a dual-cask maturation, moving from a hogshead into a bourbon barrel, and bottled at a powerful 56.0% ABV. With only 273 bottles released, it’s exactly the kind of scarce, provenance-led Japanese malt that serious collectors look for.
